The Story of Lost and Found is a visual journey and each individual cloche a journal entry that aims to understand the complicated emotions of grief. These cloches reference the need for compartmentalization of thoughts, memories, and questions as one moves through the various stages of grief. At some point we all must confront demons, hardship, and suffering. The pang of pain in these moments can be fleeting and lift off into the sunset like a bird in flight or stick around awhile we wade in the muck of depression feeling lost and confused. Regardless, the world keeps spinning, time keeps ticking, and we move through the transitional stages as best we are able. This series of sculptures tell a story with many layers. A story of losing, seeking, and finding. The process of creating each cloche involved the focused, methodical, and meditative processes of glassblowing, glass casting, and hot glass sculpting. Each found object incorporated within the sculpture holds an immense psychological and emotional power that fits perfectly within the story.
